After the parting

Nails losing their gloss,
she sits contemplating space,
but the train has left.

For haiku heights September challenge. (With apologies to the woman opposite me in Bristol station last week who inspired this.)
Thoughtful haiku… Sad though!
Euphoria in music
This is what I like about your haiku, clear and that last line a surprise ~
Thanks for your lovely comments on my haiku. I try my best to make it more than just writing 3 lines ~
Thanks Grace – your level and quality of output never cease to amaze me!
Poignant and very, very emotionally powerful. Don’t apologize to the woman, THANK HER.
This is a perfect haiku. I felt her loss.
Now she is immortalized in your words! I love the surprise last line!
Lovely haiku … very strong in it’s image … that woman is for sure immortal now.
Lovely, but so sad.
Few words saying so much… good!
🙂
Every line sewed an embellishment to the imagery and the final outcome was gorgeous. 🙂
very nice..there’s a story hidden in there somewhere..i like the mystery
Sharp and pithy haiku. I can identify with that missing the boat/gravy train feeling:)
Very descriptive… wonder what she was thinking 🙂
excellent take!
Love the image of the nails loosing their gloss
