Au Lapin Agile
by poetrydiary
A crowd not breathing;
two women dancing with drums,
moving like water.

For haiku heights September challenge. The prompt is ‘agile’ and the phrase that came into my head was ‘au lapin agile’, which is French, but beyond that I couldn’t remember anything – so I looked it up, and it turns out to be the name of a famous cabaret club in Montmatre which was the haunt of struggling writers and artists at the start of the 20th century. (I have been there in spirit many times, and in reality 20 years ago). So just right, really.
I love the last line… I can picture the undulating dancers. Very nice
This paints such a unique picture. I can see the dancers and feel the awe of the audience.
Awesome image … I can actually see, hear, feel and move withing the dance … nicely done.
Great post…

An Agile Threesome
This is just lovely. Thanks for the background
Loved the whole word picture, particularly the last line.
Really, your haiku are brilliant. I am impressed and envious!
I loved it…the feeling and imagery here….wonderful…
I’ve never been there, but thanks to your haiku, I feel as if I have!
Very fluid Haiku .. from start to finish. The imagery captured in 17 syllables is very visual. Nicely done!!
September Heights – Agility
What an apt way to capture the moments, and I loved the imagery there.. moving like water. Beautiful.
