I am a beach
by poetrydiary
I can feel the tide has turned, at last.
The sound of breakers changed, relaxed.
Impressions in the sand, half-dried, now fill.
Seabirds watching crabs, still proud, must rise.
Beachcombers head for home;
the wide bay becomes blue;
stern wavelets kiss the wall;
you can hear the seagulls call;
and my shifting spirit is renewed,
at last.

Pretty — both in its shape, and its content. I like the repetition of “at last.” And you pack so many details into such a small, quiet poem!
nice…it is often at the shore my sould returns to a natural rhythm…after everyone else has gone home…and i can just breathe…
I love the spirit of renewal in this poem. We all need to find it somewhere. Well expressed.
Love your title…love the beach..love your poem..
What a perfect ocean poem–love that line “stern wavelets kiss the wall” all of your words are so well chosen and create wonderful images 🙂
