A last haiku
Words floating, drifting,
falling like snow from my mind;
to melt on reading.
For haiku heights September challenge. Today’s prompt is ‘free’, and it’s the last of the 30 for September.
Thank you to everyone who’s read and commented on my posts, and especially Leo for organising the challenge. It has been difficult to keep going at times, but very enjoyable, and I feel I’m just beginning to learn about haiku and to see how hard it is to write successful ones. Now I think I might have a rest and do something different for a few days!
Amen to what you posted!
unique take on the prompt. Great!
Lovely painting of words specially snow melting ~
I have enjoyed your offering ~ And though I haven’t written everyday, I thank you for visiting my blog ~
A special haiku for ending our month. I love the words “to melt on reading”
Great haiku 🙂
Nice end to it.
A lovely end. enjoyed reading your haiku
Lovely take on the prompt a good one to end our month of haiku sharing. It was a joy to read your contributions to this September Heights.
love LOVE this… so very good. melting
Very nice take on the prompt. I have to say, I think your haiku have been my overall favorite collection for the month. I have learned a lot about the form by reading yours. Subtle and well-written. Thank you.
Thanks Karin, I have enjoyed yours as well. Sometimes I feel I’m way off the mark really – I think the more we’ve all done the more I feel it’s not quite as simple as it might look!
I agree–haiku is way more difficult than 17 little syllables. I have gotten to appreciate that this month!
Oh my! As always, thoughtfully and subtly written. Thank you for your encouragement all month. I have enjoyed my daily visit to the poetrydiary. Inspiring!
Thanks Barbara – I have appreciated your feedback.
What an awesome thought!…..Really creative and thoughtful…Enjoyed reading this beautiful composition.
Peace in prison
a beautifully gentle haiku…
I LOVE this. It lilts, settling with a sigh. So beautiful. I’ve enjoyed your haiku during the Haiku Heights challenge. Thank you.
Oh, surely this is not your last haiku. Maybe for September Heights, but not the last ever. Surely!
Ok….not the last ever…!
Was under the clutches of Viral fever and I scribbled the last haiku within minutes ( I know its very very bad)I just wanted to complete this challenge …
Many thanks for being a part of this amazing journey of HAIKU SEPTEMBER HEIGHTS…being a novice I tried to put in my best but I know at some or the other point I missed to hit the bull’s eye and still all of you all inspired me a lot either by peeping into my space or liking my posts and of course your ever encouraging comments made me feel on the top of the world…Loads of special thanks to each one of you…September had been very exciting and a learning month for me…I know I need to improvise a lot and I shall try to do that for sure …Thanks a lot once again…keep visiting and keep spilling your beans ..bouquets or brickbats all of them are accepted whole heartedly…
