Clouds obscure the moon; as the owl swoops silently, a tired mouse stumbles.

For haiku heights September challenge.
That image is clear…the poor mouse ~
Brilliant!
Nicely done … wonderfull, but a little sad, night scene.
wonderful haiku, but sad for the little mouse. I think this was very well done.
Oh, poor little mouse. This is a very good exampleof a classic haiku, I think. I liked it a lot.
A story said…. Awesome!!
Beautiful tiny story!
great haiku and I am sad for the little mouse …
Thanks for your lovely words on my writing..keep sharing.. 🙂
Here’s hoping it’s quick enough for the mouse. I’m imagining the owl having the body of an eagle.
P.S. I can’t access your take on loneliness; tried several times yesterday and today. Thanks for dropping by my nook.
Thanks Hazel. Not sure what the problem is with loneliness: here is the link again – https://poetry-diary.com/2012/09/02/haiku-loneliness/
(I really wanted to allow the possibility of escape for the mouse in the haiku, but maybe we all have too much belief in owls!).
I believe I’m feeling a bit like that hapless mouse today…
I so enjoy this little glimpse of night!
Pursuing the Moon
Oh oh! Poignant and beautiful!
Sad, poignant yet so much in 17 syllables. More like a story in haiku.
Poor mouse. Guess it was tired of evading the crows and eagles all day, that it forgot about the owl…
Wonderful snapshot!
