Worldly love
by poetrydiary
I am the world.
Breathe on me,
and let rolling mists gently cup
soft curving turf.
I am the world.
Dream of me,
and feel cliffs dissolve, fade to sands,
fall under surf.
I am the world.
Spin with me,
through sunbeams to see stars break
dust from their hold.
I am the world.
Caress me now
and love me. Stroke me and shake me
till mountains unfold.

A little poem for Valentine’s Day, written late at night in a hotel in London where I’m at a conference.
Lovely. Drew a sound from me when I reached the last sentence. Read this one aloud.

Thanks Margo
Yes, read it aloud. The repetition is very effective.
I’m so ecstatic you wrote this in a London hotel in between a work conference.
It picks up and explodes in the last stanza.
Another beautiful song!
No words could describe how your poem makes me feel. You are a real poet.
That’s a really kind thing to say, and touched me! Thanks.
I realise my comment could be read two ways: I meant that it was a moment of bliss.
Have to agree with Viv, and those last lines are incredible. Thank you,
Elizabeth
