poetry diary

I rhyme to see myself, to set the darkness echoing. (Seamus Heaney, from Personal Helicon)

Cragside Haiku V

Flattened nettle leaf
against wire fence, shadow-veined;
changed with each cloud pass.

Looking at hills – three haiku

Wanting to speak truth
to the hillsides and forests
I feel overwhelmed.

Thinking of people
like you being close to me
helps me feel hopeful.

Time passes slowly
and almost nothing changes
while all is renewed.
